License Plate Readers

License Plate Readers (LPR) are specialized camera systems that automatically capture license plate numbers. Using cameras with recognition software technology, these systems are used for toll collection, access control, and traffic enforcement. LPRs track vehicles in real-time without needing driver interaction. By automating vehicle identification, they make traffic management more efficient and improve security and compliance on the roads.

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Readers (AVI)

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Readers are wireless devices that use radio waves to send and receive data. They are often placed on freeways and at toll locations. RFID transponder tags, which have a unique identifier, are attached to vehicles (e.g. windshields, license plates). When a tagged vehicle passes a reader, the reader sends a signal to the tag, which then responds with its identifier. This technology helps reduce traffic congestion, improve flow, and make driving easier for motorists.
